Which teeth whitener is better? Crest or Arms and Hammer?

admin answers:

From my experience I would have to say Crest.

Question about TEETH WHITENERS?

i have the arm and hammer teeth whitening booster and im planning on using it when i brush my teeth every night. but i was wondering, is it still okay to use mouthwash right after using the whitening booster???????? i was afraid that the mouthwash might wash away the whitening stuff.

admin answers:

Not only will the mouthwash wash away the whitening stuff, the mouthwash is a colored liquid that will stain it right back.

You can rinse with luke warm salt water ( 1 glass of water and 1 pinch of salt) for a while until you’re done using the whitening product.

Also the following article will give you some info :

Donald asks…

What is a teeth whitener I can use that won’t hurt my sensitive teeth?

I am a habitual teeth grinder to the point that I am exposing dentin in some spots and am supposed to wear a bite splint to bed, so I am very wary of putting harsh substances on my teeth for fear of making things worse (or making them hurt!) My teeth are pretty white as it is, I’m young and I’ve taken care of them, but I still don’t have the brilliant smile I’d like. Are there any cheaper products that could brighten them up a couple shades that wouldn’t damage my teeth? (And by cheaper I mean not a professional whitening, I can’t afford to spend that much on vanity.)

I had heard that the arm and hammer advanced white toothpaste was good but I used it a couple days and just couldn’t stand it anymore, it tasted like pure salt to me. I use Crest whitening toothpaste but that doesn’t work. That’s all I have tried so far and I am open to just about any product so long as it’s affordable and won’t harm my teeth.
I’ve used sensodyne and the aquafresh sensitive toothpaste, they don’t help me. I have a home flouride treatment I do recommended from the dentist and that’s about all that I can even pretend helps.

Even if I don’t whiten them now I had definitely planned on whitening them for wedding pictures in a few years, it hadn’t really occurred to me that I wouldn’t be able to at all. :(
Griffins, I brush at least three times a day and usually four, and floss every night. :P I just also drank coffee every morning in high school before anyone mentioned to me that it would stain my teeth.
How about the brush on whiteners? Do those also strip enamel? Do they look natural?

admin answers:

Honestly, I have asked my dentist a billion times about gentle whitening products. There don’t seem to be any. Most of them/all of them whiten by stripping away enamel, and if your teeth are already not in good condition, don’t risk it. Try asking your dentist however, they might have an answer. Good luck!

Charles asks…

Too much? Bad idea?

So, today I went shopping and I bought some listerine pre-brush whitening mouthwash as well as the mouthwash you use after you brush/floss.. But I also use arm&hammer whitening toothpaste and brush-on teeth whitener. Should I use normal toothpaste.. drop the teeth whitener? (i want to use the mouthwash) or is it ok to use it all?

admin answers:

Ok so for a start listerine is BAD, go to your dentist and get an oral cleanser or mouthwash from him such as peroxyl or something by oral b, not sure if you have that where you are but either way he/she will recommend you a decent mouthwash. Take it from me, most of these over the counter whitening products are harmful or useless….. Listerine makes you feel like your mouth is clean but is essentially decomposing all your gum tissue/enamel/inner cheeks. Its BAD BAD BAD so please stop using it. I understand using these products if your on a budget but you can still get cut price mouthwashes that arent listerine =], theres 8 year guarantee laser whitening avail at your dentist but that costs around $NZD1000 so dont know how much it was cost wherever you are….. Otherwise you could get bleaching trays fitted at your local dentist or dental hygienist and bleach your teeth with the trays in at night, this is around $NZD250-500. But using such a combination of whitening products wont be good for your oral health at all – hope this helps
