I prefer non-action oriented series over the action focused ones, although either one is enjoyable, as long as the action isn’t ridiculous (ninja-action-death-roundhouse-ninjitsu type thing). Also not really a fan of mecha either. PLEASE don’t recommend Naruto, DBZ, Bleach, etc. They don’t fit my interests, I have no intent in watching them, and they get recommended every time. Note that I only watch subs, so don’t limit yourself to dubbed series.
As a guy, please no shoujo. I made an attempt at watching Ouran and Hetalia once, it got uncomfortable.
Thanks!
Shoujo: Aimed at girls, relationships tend to be from the female point of view, idealized.
Seinen: Aimed at men, relationships tend to be from the male point of view, non-idealized.
Note that neither are specifically romance, just a guideline.

Gurren Lagann is the best anime I have ever seen, but it is an action-based anime. The explosions make up for it though, I gotta say. They’re AMAZING. Plus, the whole anime is completely badass (Oops, excuse my language,), and you’ll look forward to every episode.
Fullmetal Panic Fumoffu is HILARIOUS. You don’t need to know the storyline of Fullmetal Panic to watch the Fumoffu version.
The nest ones I’m going to list I’m not sure if you could consider shoujo or not, but they’re definitely for guys;
Maburaho
Shuffle!
Sekirei
They’re the type of anime that has standard panty shot around every corner and such. I’m not sure if you like that or not, but give ‘em a try; they’re hilarious anyway, and always fun to watch.
Hope this helps!

Charles asks…
Should I go white-blonde? (Asking opinions)?
I’m highly considering bleaching my hair to a white blonde this summer, though I’m 100% that it would be good. I’m not trying to look natural, it’s just something I want to do. I do not, however, want to look horrible, and while i can often make judgements on these such things for other people i’ve had difficulty deciding if it will look good on me specifically. My skin tone is very fair, and I have blue eyes. My hair now is my natural color which is a redish-dirty blonde. Also, my hair is very healthy, I don’t obsessively condition it, just every other day and I use a Garnier Fructis mask about once a week for five minutes or so. So will bleaching completely mess up my hair, forcing me to cut it a ton? I’m beginning to write a novel here, so I’ll try to finish it up.
Here’s a picture of myself for a visual: http://i556.photobucket.com/albums/ss4/thesebrightlights/DSC02407.jpg
If I do this I’m thinking I will use the stuff called White Out that you can get at Hot Topic. If anyone has used it, is it good stuff? I heard that it works really well. If not, is there something else/better that you know of? Unfortunately going to a salon is not an option. Though I cut my own hair, so i’m not one to go to such a place often anyway.
Last, if I do this is it necessary that I also get something to bleach my eyebrows? You can sort of see them in the picture, they’re pretty dark, darker than my hair. Like I said, I’m not going for a completely natural look, but i don’t want to look horrid (though I guess that’s relative). If I should bleach them, how light should I make them, and with what should I bleach them?
Thanks so much for any answers/opinions! ![]()
** I meant in the beginning that i’m NOT 100% that it will look good. Haha
I’ve gone dark before (last April) and while I got compliments on it and my friends have told me to do it again, it’s just not for me. Now that it’s back to my natural color (though gets more blonde and red during the summer) I just don’t want to go dark again. I thought it looked good for a week but the second it started to fade I hated it, and I can’t keep that up. I’m possibly considering just bleaching part of my bangs (just underneath) and also some strips underneath that I can dye with semi-permanent purple or blue or orange or red, whatever I feel like (lol). Do you think that would work with keeping my natural color. By the way, it doesn’t always look as red as it does in the picture. A lot of the time it’s more like this: http://i556.photobucket.com/albums/ss4/thesebrightlights/m_f1c1c5fed9344910b4697749349430fe.jpg

I think it would look cool.

Jenny asks…
Help me find a new anime/manga to follow!?
I’ve either tried or finished every single anime or manga I can think of. And now I’m BORED. My favorite genres are action/fighting, adventure, fantasy, horror, and a touch of romance.I am not particularly picky about artwork, but I do NOT like realistic-styles (like american graphic novels), One-Piece style, or just plain sucky. These are the series I have enjoyed the most:
Fullmetal Alchemist (action and fantasy together is my favorite!)
D.Gray-man (action and fantasy, though plot isn’t as strong as FMA.)
Rurouni Kenshin (I love samurai!)
Code Geass (I’m a fan of anti-heroes like Lelouch and Yagami Light.)
Deathnote (don’t like it THAT much, but it’s got a cool anti-hero.)
Shinshi Doumei Cross (the one romance series that got on my favs.)
Franken Fran (horror, but not really guro/hentai. Awesome.)
Rave Master (cute, and a great adventure story. But mostly cute.)
Bleach (I really liked it up to the Hueco Mundo arc. That was lame.)
Note: SHONEN ONLY, NO MAGICAL GIRL! Though romance is fine if it’s REALLY good, I can’t STAND magical girls like Sailor Moon, Tokyo Mew Mew, Mermaid Melody, etc. Those get on my nerves.
Genuine anime/manga only, not American or Korean stuff. (American stuff is crap to me, and you can’t find a lot of Korean series on the online manga sites, even though those Koreans have some pretty neat stuff.) DON’T put the famous ones, like InuYasha, Shaman King, Bleach, or Naruto. I GUARANTEE you I’ve already seen it. Aim for the less well-known ones, maybe even those ones that haven’t been dubbed in the US yet. I don’t watch dubs anyways.
If you’re a nice person, you’ll add a short summary, or at least the genres, of the series. =D Thanks!
When I mean NO WELL-KNOWN ANIMES, I mean it. I’ve seen literally EVERYTHING. From the sort-of well known types like Black Cat and Buso Renkin, all the way to the Cartoon Network types like Naruto and Bakugan, I’ve seen them all. Try to name the uncommon ones that no one’s ever heard of like Shinshi Doumei Cross, Cherry Juice, et cetera. Even if it’s really short, like only a few episodes or chapters. I’ll try it. Thanks again!
