December 7th, 2009 | Author: adminhere is nothing mentioned about the Plastic packaging, OR Cosmetic packaging, in the headline, but when you delve into the article you find out that packaging has a role to play in the outcome. I joke about all the “I Hate Packaging” articles out there, but seriously this topic has not died. We can go from the Oyster Award to Wrap Rage, but it is unlikely that people will stop loving to hate packaging.
n preparation for a presentation on packaging innovation, I decided to poll my network about what they believe to be new in packaging innovation for consumer products. I posed these questions to my audience:
It seems that there is much more going on in environment legislation about packaging in other countries. In fact, at the World Packaging Organization meeting in Beijing last week it was announced that China is working to develop “green packaging” as part of its efforts to build an environment-friendly society. I also have had the opportunity to read some very interesting facts including this tidbit: the world consumes 25 billion pizza boxes annually. So, if your pizza box is “green” you can save the world.
I watched American Inventor while I was in away and that same judgment was reinforced. People invented things that had absolutely no market potential whatsoever. Not matter how clever, catchy or innovative the packaging might be to lure the consumer into the purchase, it can’t save these inventions from an unmitigated disaste
