David asks…
What is the best Natural tooth whitener?
admin answers:
Okay, this is really gross. I saw on the History Channel, that back in
medieval times, some people rinsed with urine to whiten their teeth. It whitened their teeth, alright, but the acid eventually ate away the enamel and they ended up with horrible tooth decay.
Don’t try this at home.

Crunchy Vegetables
Vegetables such as celery, carrots, broccoli, and cucumbers are naturally abrasive and act like little toothbrushes that scrub away stains.
Wood Ash (Lye)
The potassium hydroxide found in hardwood ash is a bleaching agent and will whiten teeth. A popular home remedy is brushing with the wood ash on a regular basis. Potassium will harm the enamel in your teeth over time and this has to taste awful. It’s best to stay away from this one.
Baking Soda
The process of brushing teeth with a baking soda and salt mixture has been around for a long time, and for good reason. It can actually be effective in removing stains, especially with the help of peroxide. Baking soda will also help to kill bacteria which causes plaque, and reduce acids which can harm tooth enamel.
Baking soda is safe to use and easily obtained. If you do use a baking soda mixture, brush gently around your gums so you don’t irritate them.
Peroxide
Gargling with peroxide is said to whiten teeth. This is true to some extent, but keep in mind that over-the-counter peroxide is not nearly as concentrated as the peroxide found in effective teeth whiteners.
The popular peroxide remedy has you brush your teeth normally, swish peroxide around your teeth, and then rinse with water. This is safe, however it may irritate the gums and cause tooth sensitivity over time.
Baking Soda & Peroxide Combined
This may be one of the best home remedies for teeth whitening and regular tooth maintenance. Dr. Paul Keyes, founder of the International Dental Health Foundation, has a mixture which many people seem to find helpful.
Some saw strawbery made into a pulp and lemon juice. Carrots and ot
eating celery etc.
All above worked for me.
I have excellent straight teeth, 2 fillings and I have whte whte teeth. But I never smoked etc. ( and Im over the HILL

George asks…
Natural Teeth Whitening Foods?
I’ve heard that some foods such as strawberries can act as natural teeth whiteners. Do you know any other foods which act as teeth whiteners? And what actually makes each food whiten teeth?
Thanks.

1. Use baking soda, white vinegar and salt – for a maximum effect.
Brush your teeth daily with a paste made from baking soda, salt and white vinegar. Brushing your teeth must be done for 2-3 minutes. Afterwards rinse your mouth with a lot of water and brush your teeth with regular toothpaste for another 2 minutes.
2. Try lemon juice and baking soda.
Another natural solution for Whitening Teeth is to use baking soda along with a few drops of lemon juice for massaging the teeth. As the lemon juice is acid you must be careful and rinse your mouth after using it so that you protect your teeth enamel against corrosion.
3. Mustard oil and salt -another genial solution
Great whitening results can be seen if washing your teeth with a combination of mustard oil and salt.
4. Use strawberries for a lovely white shine.
Strawberries are not only tasty fruit; they are also our alleys into obtaining great White Teeth. Gently massage your teeth with mashed strawberries. Still, you should know that strawberries contain a lot of sugar and acid in their composition and after using them for whitening the teeth you must wash your teeth again with a Tooth Paste.
5. An apple a day keeps the doctor away- this goes for stains too!
Eating daily an apple does not only bring your body minerals and vitamins, but also brushes your teeth and whitens them.
6. Try dried and powdered bay leaves mixed with dried orange peel.
This is another solution that is easy to apply, but unfortunately it needs some consistency as results become visible only after a few weeks.
7. Other natural tips for whitening teeth are burnt toast combined with tooth paste.
Still, this method of making the teeth look shiner and whiter can cause enamel damage if used improperly on the teeth. You must massage gently the teeth with this paste and have patience as results will be seen gradually.
No matter which of these methods you want to try, remember that results can’t become visible over night and that patience and consistency are a must.
