Do I have burnt gums from Zoom!?
I had Zoom 3 a year and a half ago. Yesterday I topped up the treatment with my trays and the 1hr nite white gel. I put a little more than usual in this time, to get to the very tops of my teeth.
Today on one side of my mouth it looks like my gums are peeling? And it bleeds if i touch it too much. Did I burn it with the whitening gel? Its not really sore but it just looks awful! Like i have food stuck up there or something!
Have I done something serious or will it heal?
Yes, it is possible to have a chemical burn on your gums from the whitening gel. It is rare but if you leave it on too long or the gel was old and expired it could give you a chemical burn. It should not sit on your gums. It will heal on its own if thats what it is but if it does not then you need to go to the dentist to have it treated. Good luck : )
