Crest Whitestrips?? or should i try a non-strip method, like a Whitening Toothpaste and mouth wash???
I’ve heard that Crest whitestrips make your teeth feel very sensitive, they’re painful, they slide right off, but they DO make your teeth whiter.
I’m getting my braces off soon, but my ORTHO recommended i use these whitestrips. he said they work BETTER than his zoom whitening.
I don’t want to use the strips, because i fear this kind of pain that i’ve heard many people talk about.
i’ve worn my braces long enough, i can’t endure additional pain.
what kind of whitening toothpaste do you recommend???? that you have personally used and know it works.
Thanks.
My husband and I are both whitening our teeth right now using the Crest strips – and he’s a dentist, so we could have used any method we wanted.
He has used his every morning and night for the past three weeks and is done. His teeth look great. I have always had very sensitive teeth, so I use my a few days, take a break for a few days, then start again. You don’t have to use them everyday if they heighten sensitivity, just go slower and it still works.
We always dry off our teeth with a paper towel before applying the strips and that helps with the slipping around – but doesn’t totally eliminate it. Try not talking, etc for the thirty minutes, that actually helps a lot. DO NOT brush your teeth right before or right after using the strips because that can trigger sensitivity – so you kind of have to “plan” when to use them.
My husband (the dentist) says that the whitening toothpastes don’t really work very well, so I’d try the strips if I were you.
Happy whitening!
